Pom puppy has worms!?

we just got an 8 week old pom puppy friday and found out she has intestinal worms. i know there are medicines at the vet and pet store for worms, but i was wondering if there are any natural home remedies that i could try instead of putting harsh chemicals into my puppy's system.

  1. I don't know of any home remedies, but the medicines will be dosed according to her age and size so you won't have to worry about it hurting her system.
  2. id take the chemicals. unless you want her to die, since you know there are NO "home remedies."
  3. No there is nothing that you can make at home to cure worms. Do not buy anything over the counter either. It will not work and make the pup sick! Bring the pup into the vet and take a stool sample with you. This way the vet can give you the right meds to get rid of the worms for your pups weight.
  4. Worm medicine, from your VET, first thing MONDAY MORNING!!!!!
  5. It's far more dangerous for a pup that young to have worms than it is for them to take medication.
  6. Not if you want to get rid of the worms, no. Go to your vet and do the right thing!
  7. I've never heard of any home remedies for worms. The dewormer that you get at the vet or pet store isn't harsh on the dog. It's just a powder that you add to the dogs food. He has roundworms which is VERY normal for puppies. Almost all puppies have roundworms and they are easy to get rid of. I would go to the pet store because it's cheaper than the vet clinic and does the same thing. Just make sure your medicine that you get is for Rounds and not Tapes or something. Hope this helps.
  8. PLEASE go to the vet and let him deworm her the right way. These so-called herbal remedies can be dangerous. They can have side effects that are hard on a little puppy and I don't want to upset you, but for a small puppy like a Pom, the herbal remedies could even be fatal. Some dogs and puppies can have serious allergic reactions to these herbal concoctions. And half the time, these herbal things don't even work anyway. Please let the vet do it. He will be able to see which kinds of worms she has and give her the correct medication to get rid of them. Herbal meds are not regulated by the FDA and some of them have been found to not even contain the ingredients that they claim to contain. They may even contain things that are harmful to your health. For your little Pom's safety, please go to the vet if she has a health problem. And please do not buy an over-the-counter dewormer from the store. I have seen them make little puppies VERY sick!
