Pet medicine portal

Online seller of pet medicine/vetinary medicine WITHOUT PRESCRIPTION? I am looking for an online store ...?

that I can buy pet medicine for my dog-without a vet prescription. My local vet refuses to write a prescription for me to get medicine from the internet. My vet charges a fortune and I can buy the exactly same medicine my doctor needs from the internet for much cheaper. But the problem is...my vet will not give me a prescription because he wants customers to buy the dog medicine from him-not from an internet site. Please help me if you can?!?!?!

  1. If I were you, I would call a few other vets in your area and ask them their policy on this. You can always have your pets records transferred.
  2. Doesn't exist. Meds that require a prescription cannot be purchased without one, period. Online pet pharmacies will sell non-prescription medications only unless you can mail or fax a copy of a signed written prescription. I think it's illegal for them to refuse to write out a prescription... is there another vet you could go to instead?
  3. You cannot buy Veterinary medicine without a prescription. But your Veterinary Surgeon cannot refuse to write you a written prescription for medications, so you can buy them elsewhere. Most surgeries supply written prescriptions for free, others will charge a small amount. The Veterinary Surgeon can only write you a prescription if your dog is under his care, following a clinical assessment. Im sure it is illegal for your Vet to refuse you a written prescription, too (unless your pet requires emergency treatment).
  4. We use Best Pet Pharmacy. It's a company based in Scotland. They get the medicine to you very quickly (we ordered pheromone diffusers and they got to us in Yorkshire within 24hrs!). I don't know the exact web address but if you type the name into Google then it'll most likely come up:-)
  5. Change vets. Get a full xeroxed copy of all his records (you should have these anyway, the vet can't restrict access to them, but you may have to pay for the xerox costs) and transfer to a different vet in town. If you need to get meds from a vet specific pharmacy, I use this one, they're very good and only need to talk on the phone to the vet or be faxed or mailed a prescription. I get my hyperthyroid meds for my cat through them and haven't had any trouble. They're affordable too. http://www.petapothecary.com/index.htm You can email them, they're the Pet Apothecary in Milwaukee, WI. They do a lot of mail order business.
  6. And he refuses with good reason - you are simply not qualified to correctly diagnose your dog, otherwise you would be called a vet. He is simply refusing to write out a free license for you to buy products he cannot guarantee the quality of, thereby protecting himself from future lawsuits - nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately we are not vets either, and buying off the net is very dangerous since the quality of product is far lower, why take that kind of cha ce with the health of the pet you love?
