Pets & Bugs????

About a week ago we noticed the dog itching a lot and upon further inspection found little bugs under her fur. I thought that they might be fleas and bought some topical medicine (Frontline) from the vet and applied to the dog as well as our two cats. Well, after researching fleas, these do not seem to be consistent with the description; and we are now finding these bugs everywhere. They are tiny black/brown beetle like bugs. They appear to have wings, though I have never seen one fly. Any ideas on what they might be?

2. They are fleas. You need to bomb your entire house and put the drops on all of your animals. Your going to continue to battle with them if you don't. Good luck. This time of year is the worst for fleas too because it is so cold.
3. you need to take a sample bug to the vet and have them tell you what you've got
4. when you treated the cats and the dog did you also clean you house that is a big thing 2. You have to clean everything! They can be found on everything.

6. i think it's a flea,it sucks blood and very itchy.
7. Beetle like? The only beetle like parasite I can think of is the tick, but they only look somewhat like beetles and don't have wings Can you take a picture of one and upload it?
8. Dogs also can get ticks, mites and scabies too. I think you should take the bugs to the vet to know for sure what is going and a better medication.
9. could be ticks, but cant really know without seeing it.
