Help! if you know anything about dogs?

i was just petting my little dog harley, and when i rubed my hand down his back there was a little drop of blood on my finger and then i checked his back and it looked like a really big bite(like a little hole but bigger than a flea bite) and then i found another one near the area i found the other spot on his back,i know its not a flea bite its to big could it be a tick bite? also i just put his flea and tick medicine on him, hopefully that will help, but if you think you know what this bite or whatever it is could be please respond thank you all in advance.

  1. he probably just cut himself, don't worry about it, simple medical aid will help
  2. it might just be a tick bite like you said of he could of got bitten by another bug or possibly hurt by an animal. i would go to a vet and get it checked out just to make sure . i hope he is well :)
  3. Take him to the vet!
  4. Ticks don't bite and leave, they stay put until they get huge from sucking the dogs blood - you would have noticed a tick there. It sounds like he might have gotten bit by another dog maybe? Or got caught up in something? If it doesn't seem too bad, he will probably be okay but if it is bleeding alot you should take him to the vet.
  5. you should get some tweezers , peroxide, and some cotton balls. i think it is a tick bite. do not touch the wound with your hand. if you find the tick, it will be attatched to the skin really tight. so so try to grab it with the tweezers really tight, and kill it and wrap it with a napkin and put it in a bag. then put the peroxide on it the skin. (you have to take action , because if not, it will grow and probably another one will bite the same wound ) then put medicine on the rest of the body.
  6. keep an eye on him. see if it heals normally. if it happens often, get him to a vet. he could have another kind of parasite.
  7. Sounds exactly like a tick bite to me. Call your vet and see if they want you to bring him in. Is he vaccinated against Lyme? They may want a bloodtest for it.
  8. it may be a tick or it may have happened when he was biting himself(sometimes, dog bite themselves to scratch)
  9. Ticks don't bite and leave ,they'll stay hooked into the skin until they get full of blood then fall off.
  10. Take the dog to a vet..
