What is the best website for pet flea medicine at the best discount price? Only looking at Advantage/Advantix or Frontline/Frontline Plus

Have you ever used OTC flea medicine for cats in the past? I've reading on this site all the adverse reactions from flea medication for pets: http://www.elversonpuzzle.com/biospotlettersv7.html and ALL flea medicine has adverse reactions even Frontline and Revolution. Other things I've noted is that most adverse reactions happen to dogs by 2 or 3 to 1. Now I've just bought my kitten Zodiac Flea and Tick medicine for cats and Kittens but after reading everything, I felt bad for trying to be cheap and my brain was conjuring all these bad images even though the kitten seem ok and washed it off. Now I'm pissed that I let these stories get to me. So here's the question, we all know generally that Frontline, Revolution and most meds you get from Vets work fine. I've used Frontline myself and aside from it wearing off early, didn't seem to have much adverse affect on my cat. But these OTC's can't ALL be that bad, can they. Otherwise, with the thousands if not millions they sell, they would have an epidemic upon release to the public. Now I don't want to risk my kittens lives either but if a OTC does work, I think we should support it and not just ASSUME all OTC's are fatal for pets. Otherwise Frontline and Revolution will be the only products on the market. It's the OTC's that keep the pet medicine market low. Anyways, enough of my rant. Here's the Question: Have you ever used an OTC flea medication before and what happen, good or bad. Let's see the percentage at least among this group who've had good or bad reaction. Please only list your own pet, use and experience and not what you have heard. Thank you. Important, please list what brand as well. I think we can all agree that Hartz is horrible for pets. That I won't dispute. I've never used it myself but there are enough reports on Hartz to convince me not to experiment with it.
My dog has dry skin.? My dog has dry skin on his back, does frontline pets have a medicine for dry skin, if so what is is it called, if not, what does treat dry skin for dogs?
Frontline Plus + Cat+ Allergic Reaction = ??? well, my 11 month year old cat has fleas. My sister bought Frontline Plus online but it came with this weird tube thing and you could tell it was really Frontline for Dogs. Stupidly, we used it on our cat and she got all itchy and started pulling her fur out, so we washed it off. She's okay now. So, now she still has fleas and now she has to sleep in the garage and she barley gets any attention now. The local pet hospital refuses to give us any cat flea medicine without giving her a $50 check up. i already bought another 100% authentic Frontline Plus for Cats on ebay, because the pet hospital was giving me a lot of trouble. first they said: i could only purchase 2 (i came back in two weeks, because i had to get the money) second: they said i needed someone 18 years or older with me third: they said they cant give me any at all without a checkup. should i just take her to the checkup? i mean, what if she's fine but they lie to me and take all my money? HELP!
Is the Hartz brand as good as Frontline for fleas and ticks? I was at the Pharmacy and saw they have a 3 month supply of Hartz for only 7 bucks that is a topical medicine, similar to how Frontline is administered. Is Frontline the best? What is the active ingredient besides the brandname? Everyone says Frontline is the best but I went to a vet when I brought my first dog that had a flea collar on and they suggested a pill, which I forgot the name of. So are there alternatives to Frontline in pill form? And I ask again, Does garlic really keep ticks and fleas off of pets? I didnt hear quite a resounding Yes in my last question so am readdressing this question to see if it is a myth or truth. Thanks for everyones input in advance.
Pets & Bugs???? About a week ago we noticed the dog itching a lot and upon further inspection found little bugs under her fur. I thought that they might be fleas and bought some topical medicine (Frontline) from the vet and applied to the dog as well as our two cats. Well, after researching fleas, these do not seem to be consistent with the description; and we are now finding these bugs everywhere. They are tiny black/brown beetle like bugs. They appear to have wings, though I have never seen one fly. Any ideas on what they might be?
Bald spot from Frontline? My cat is 7 and has been on Frontline for about 4 years. We discontinue it in the winter. We occasionally get minor fleas and she is the first one I notice the fleas on.Other than the bad infestation we got one time, I can tell when fleas are on her because their waste makes her fur feel gross and her ears get red. She is all white and has short but super duper thick fur. She lives indoors 100% of the time. I have 2 dogs on Frontline as well, also discontinued in the winter. I'm sure the fleas were on the pets before I realized and the frontline stopped an infestation..it's a great product. The question here is, has anybody else had this happen and can the product be used in the future? I applied the medicine about 2 wks ago, and the spot is completely bald and she doesn't want me to touch it, but it isn't red, crusty, or anything...just bald
Can I use Advantage for dogs on my cats too? What is the best, Frontline, Advantage or K9 Advantage. I have 1 dog (chihuahua) and 2 cats. Could i just get some flea medicine for dogs and still use them on my cats? And to save a little bit more money, could i get flea meds for dogs 21-55lbs and divide it up for my 3 pets?
How to get rid of a tick problem? Please, I hope you can help me. When we got our pup about 6 months ago, we treted her with Frontline to kill her fleas & ticks. It was time to give the treatment once again but we coulnt find this specific medicine in any pet store so we got one by the brand Hertz. Now she does'nt have a single flea, but we recently discovered she has been getting more and more ticks, actually, it's been in these last 3 days. The more we get rid off, the more they appear. We have given her baths with a medicated soap (it says it kills ticks & fleas) to see if the problem goes away, but no luck... Is there any other way we can get rid of this pest?

Ok, well thanx everyone... I guess the only thing I can do for now is keep cheking her until we get her Frontline... I hope to have it here in the next few days... we've treated her with this ever since she gor here, it was his month we coul'dnt find it so we got the one taht was left (hartz) so she wouldn't be without protection... I guess it was'nt the best move, since she's gotten more and more in the last 3 days, so we won't get it anymore... Thank you all for your help. ^-^
My 1 year old cat is drooling. Could this be from the frontline I put on her a few weeks ago? I used frontline for the first time on my 1yr old cat a few weeks ago. She did have some salivation issues after I put it on her which the box said could happen. But now she's drooling (clear) & she never has before. I've been gone off & on for 2wks for work & I first noticed the drooling last week when I was home for a few days. I was petting her & I saw her drooling. I chaulked it up to her being happy I was home. Then this morning I felt the pillow she sleps on and it was really wet in one spot. After playing with her for a bit she went to lay down. All of a sudden I heard her licking herself & looked over & there was massive drool. I had to use a paper towel to clean it up. Her teeth & gums look fine. She's eating & drinking & no vomiting. I called the vet & they said to give her a bath to get the flea medicine off her & just watch her for a few days to see if its gone. I'm a worried mom and want to know if anyone knows of frontline causing this problem or if she's just content. In addition there is nothing she could have gotten into chemically. We've lived here in my apartment for over a year. I can't find anything wrong with her ears. She's not really being out of character. She ate today and drank some water. Her coat is fine because I gave her a bath but there was nothing funny about it before. Though she may be a little warm. Everything is pretty much the same. It sems the drooling is only when I'm petting her or when she's napping. She is purring and that's a good sign right? Maybe she has a little cold?
